Initially Jump Racing 315z2z

The course initially opened as a Jumps course and, in 1894 also started as a Flat racing venue. The course’s similarities with Epsom make it a recognised trial for the Derby and Oaks.

All-Weather Track 1h322

In 1989, Lingfield became the first racecourse in the UK with an all-weather track; this also makes it the only racecourse in the UK to stage racing of all three types – Flat Turf, Flat All-Weather and National Hunt – and it is the busiest racecourse in Europe.
